Aluminum CNC & Screw Machining Services
China Stainless Steel Screws manufactures and supplies a variety of custom cnc aluminum parts, offering aluminum machining services. Aluminum alloys are used for industrial fasteners which offer a high strength to weight ratio, high wear and anti-corrosive properties. Raw aluminum comes in plates, sheets, coils, bars, rods and wire in a variety of sizes and can be used in specialty cold heading, machining, casting and stamping.
Our aluminum screw machined parts are known for superior quality and high level of performance in several industrial applications.
*Available in inch and metric sizes.
Aluminum Grades Common in Machining
Aluminum Alloy 6000 series and 2000 series are more commonly used in the manufacturing of components due to the many benefits aluminum offers. Common among them are:
- Aluminum alloy 2011 is a high mechanical strength alloy that machines exceptionally well. Often called a Free Machining Alloy or ‘FMA’ it is well suited for machining at high speeds which produces fine chips that are easily removed. The excellent machining characteristics allow the production of complex and detailed parts. It has less corrosion resistance, which means parts made from 2011 tend to be anodized to provide additional surface protection. Applications - 2011 is typically used in applications that require parts manufactured by repetition machining. These applications may include appliance parts & trim, fasteners and fittings and ordnance.
- Aluminum 2024 is used in applications that require high strength due to its high wear and fatigue resistance, especially in the aerospace and defense/military industries.
- Aluminum 6061 possesses strong mechanical properties and weldability and one of the most common for general purposes. It’s commonly used for aircraft structure construction, boat and yacht construction, extrusions automotive and industrial parts forging. It’s also resistant to corrosion and harsh environments.
- Aluminum 6063 is primarily used to create extruded shapes for architectural purposes, including window and door frames, roofs, tubing, and other structural applications. It is highly weldable, heat treatable & durable.
Using aluminum for CNC machining, screw machining, casting, and cold heading provides several benefits:
A protective layer forms on aluminum when it is exposed to the atmosphere, giving it the ability to resist corrosion and rust. Small amounts of copper, zinc, magnesium, and other elements are added to improve the strength of the metal.
